Help Crèche Help a Needy Child

All donations are tax-deductible. Those who give to Crèche receive a formal thank-you letter. For memorial donations, a personalized acknowledgment letter is sent to the appropriate person to inform him or her of the gift.

People who give to Crèche do so for many different reasons. Some give to ensure that Crèche continues its mission, just as it has done for the past 100 years. Others give because Crèche made an impact in their own lives years ago. Whatever the reason, whatever the amount, your gift is gratefully appreciated. Your dollars help Crèche help a child in need.

Crèche appreciates gifts of any amount.

Other Ways We Raise Money

In order to achieve its mission, Crèche depends on income received from fundraisers during the year. Two of our annual fundraisers are tag days and rummage sales events.

Tag Days

The annual Tag Days Event is the most successful fundraiser for Crèche and includes a canister collection and the Friends of Crèche letter.

Active members of Crèche collect money outside of various local businesses in May and August of each year. We depend on the monies raised to benefit area children in need. Just as important, however, is the opportunity to increase community awareness of Crèche.

When people are asked: “Will you help Crèche help a needy child?” potential donors are able to ask questions about who we are and what we do. Some choose to take the opportunity to share stories of how Crèche impacted their lives years ago.

The annual Friends of Crèche letter is mailed to area businesses prior to the August Tag Days event. The income received from this campaign supports our many endeavors, and all monies received are gratefully appreciated. Crèche members also give personal Tag Days donations.

Rummage Sales

The oldest continuous fundraiser is our semi-annual Rummage Sale.

The spring and fall rummage sales are held during the first week in May and the first week in October at The Spire, formerly known as The First Congregational Church, 316 E 4th Street, Jamestown, NY.

All items for the sale are donated by the Crèche membership, and each active member works a two-hour shift during the event.

The rummage sale provides an opportunity for the community to buy household goods, sports equipment, quality adult and children's clothing, toys, books, and more at very low prices. Income generated from the sale helps further our mission to serve needy children in the greater Jamestown area.
